This project was for construction of a new, automated fulfillment warehouse and distribution center for The Kroger Company, the largest grocery retailer in the U.S.
The warehouse is two-story, 492,000-sf, steel frame building constructed with insulated metal panels and includes refrigerated and non-refrigerated areas. It features four (4) mezzanines, 31,000-sf of office space, and a 26,000-sf freezer. The facility is a state-of-the-art, utilizing proprietary technology solutions based on artificial intelligence, advanced robotics, and automation. The project included two (2) additional structures – a vehicle maintenance building and van wash building. Also on-site is a gasoline fueling station for consumer delivery vans and a diesel fueling station for tractor trailer trucks. Inside the building, the office/administrative and employee amenity areas feature durable, yet modern and stylish finishes and architectural details. This new style of fulfillment center was the fourth of its kind for the Kroger Company.
